About This Role
The Coordinator II, Program and Sponsorship will oversee and coordinate the implementation of program and sponsorship activities in Nampula province. S/he will supervise and coordinate program and sponsorship activities, ensuring program and sponsorship quality standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are met, and work closely with Local Partners to ensure adherence to Child Safeguarding policies and protocols.

About This Role
The Coordinator II, Program and Sponsorship will oversee and coordinate the implementation of program and sponsorship activities in Nampula province. S/he will supervise and coordinate program and sponsorship activities, ensuring program and sponsorship quality standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are met, and work closely with Local Partners to ensure adherence to Child Safeguarding policies and protocols.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate all program and sponsorship activities implemented in all program sites in Nampula province.
- Assist Local Partners in the design, development, and implementation of Annual Operational Plans and Budgets and other program strategic plans and frameworks.
- Guide and supervise the implementation, monitoring, review and reporting of program activities in the program areas and facilitate cross community sharing of experiences and lessons learnt.
- Prepare and/or consolidate weekly and monthly program progress reports.
- Facilitate integration of program and sponsorship intervention/activities in all phases of the project cycle—design, development, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.
- Engage and mobilize enrolled children and their families to fully participate in program and sponsorship activities.
- Ensure sponsorship systems and processes are well managed and adhered to according to policies, procedures and standards and that sponsorship database information is accurate, up-to-date, and utilized for management decision making.
- Review sponsorship materials – correspondence, communications, and products for compliance, both in timeliness and content.
- Ensure Child Information Folders and process re-assignment material are updated on a weekly basis.
- Work with Country Office, Local Partners and community structures to develop capacities and accountability for the delivery of sponsorship requirements.
- Administrate the sponsorship system (Salesforce) for the Program Area and ensure it is maintained and operated according to the organization’s prescribed quality standards.
- Facilitate sponsor visits in close collaboration and consultation with the Country Office and ensure all sponsor visit protocols are adhered to.
- Support New Business Development by providing most up to date contextual information for Nampula province.
- Represent ChildFund in Nampula province in government and other CSO stakeholders’ meetings and forums.
- Serve as the security focal person for Nampula province and participate in INSO security briefings and training.
- Serve as the lead ChildFund contact coordinating Emergency Response in Nampula and participate in all emergency response coordination meetings at provincial level.
- Remain alert and responsive to any safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding Policy.
Required Experience and Education
- University degree in social sciences, development studies, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- More than 4 years progressive work experience in community development with a focus on children and youth welfare and development in not-for-profit environment.
- Practical experience in program coordination and management of program activities in a rural set-up.
- Practical experience in managing partners and capacity building as well as engagement with government entities.

Other Required Competencies
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, including good written and oral communication skills in English and Portuguese. Fluency in Makua is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Child Safeguarding policies and protocols.
- Computer proficiency in general office software applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with process-oriented operations and workflows, as well as with policies and standards.
- Team leadership abilities and capacity to supervise a team.
- Excellent organization and prioritizing skills – ability to handle and perform in fast-paced, multi-task environment.
- Process management experience and desire to learn process management tools.
- Advanced proficiency with Salesforce or similar database management systems.
